There was a lot of discussion and lots of ideas being thrown out! We'll have tons of activities coming up!
After our discussion, we pulled out cardboard boxes and made masterpieces. I wanted to see what types of things the kids would be interested in making when left to their own devices- here are their creations!
Roman worked very hard to add a second story to his house- to go with the staircase he built. Roman is a little architect! He's very fascinated with dimensions and building things.
Harli got a little discouraged- but in the end she decided to take home her puppet display, and all her beautiful, detailed puppets. She worked very hard and learned a lot about disappointment and how to move forward through it. Way to go, Harli!
Zach built his own little puppet display, complete with a window, a man, and a dragon. He was the instigator of the window pane made of tape.
Lola made a house she could climb in, and spent most of the remaining time alternately peeking out her windows and emerging to make fixes to the house. She was very excited to be able to crawl through her functioning door!
Jared did multiple projects- he also made a house with windows, but spent most of his time making 'panes' for his robot baseball cap.. At least that's what it looked like to me! He said it wasn't anything, he just liked wearing it on his head.
Hannah spent most of her time trying to get her table to stand up. She tried reinforcing the table, taping the legs at the right angles, and quite a few other tactics to get it to stand up- she ended up taking hers home to grapple with physics some more.
We had so much fun! Our next meeting will be on Saturday instead of Friday- my apologies for writing the calendar wrong! I have a wedding to attend Friday, so Saturday is the day! See you at 3:00!
I'll be updating the calendar with a PDF to match the calendars I handed out earlier. I will also add PDFs for both the informational page and the sign-up sheet.
Thank you so much for letting me work with your kids! I can't wait to see what they do!
