True stories about our summer
Poetry Book with everyone's poetry ('Like Shel Silverstein!')
Animals (cows, Lucy the Dog, blue whales, tigers, couguars. Lambs, sharks, falcons, etc)
Life of a couch/balloon- what would it be like to be sat on all the time? To float?
Life of the doll Miss Jenica lost as a little girl (I tied it to a balloon, and it wasn't heavy enough to hold the balloon down so they both floated away.)
WW1 and WW2- Grandpas and family members- historical
How photosynthesis works ('I used to think plants just had little mouths we can't see!')
Moving to a new country (Mr. Joe knows what that's like!)
Characters the kids made out if clay (below)
We had lots and lots of ideas and lots of fun! After we brainstormed, we made characters out of clay. Here are their stories.
Zach's head was exploding with ideas!
Lola peeking at everyone's finished characters.
Roman's snake had powers- it could burrow through rock! This snake* was snail-eating (careful, Zach!) and lived in a tree. It also had a toy cube and a toy ball it played with.
These are Lola's binoculars! Her story was about a little girl who wanted beautiful binoculars so badly, her mom finally took her to get some. Then the little girl left them outside! She had to promise her mom that she wouldn't leave them outside before she was allowed to take them out again. The end!
This is the last tiger in the world! Hannah is an advocate for endangered species, (tigers being the favorite,) and wants to bring awareness to the world to help save tigers! Her story was about what it would be like for the last tiger in the world.
Harli's dog, Mooki, and bird he caught recently. He also tore up the couch when he was little, so Harli made the couch as well! She was very detailed, and her story was nonfiction.
Roman's first creation was this family of snails being eaten by a snake. Look out little snails!
Mooki
We had so much fun!
